Luckily, despite the name, she at least knew it was Japan and asked me if I ever saw anything like this when I was there (I hadn't -- never saw pushers, but was on some very full trains). But then I was almost always in central Tokyo and so never took commuter trains coming from way out during rush hour.

The file / email was uncredited of course -- but the metadata was completely blank so at least someone else isn't taking credit. :)
