do not buy this

i got one. the first thing that struck me was that the inside is hideous. then it takes an age to start up, its also slow when its running windows. it also has appaulling build quality, the screen isnt fitted properly so dust and dirt gets in between the glass layer. the graphics are horrible for gaming. the wireless is tempromental. it has a bluetooth switch, but it doesnt actually have bluetooth. windows vista is awful, i mean absolutely terrible, i was going to install XP onto this laptop, but there are no drivers available for it. the synaptics pointing device occassionally stops working, so the scroll just stops, along with the middle button. the battery life is extremely short, they say 2.5 hours, but that must be with it just being on. i set everything to its lowest and got nearly 1.5 working hours, i think this is because there are so many dam lights on it. the sound card is horrible, i installed some music notation software, and the sound just distorts so much and jumps because it cant cope with much sound at all, and when its not distorting, there is no bass in the sound and its really quiet. the keyboard is nasty. some keys get stuck, mainly the enter key and backspace, you have to get a thin knife and try to fish it out slightly, then poke it back into place. it has some annoying button that opens the acer management system which is just completely unnecessary. the lid doesnt shut properly. it also comes with so much stupid annoying software you dont want and the acer arcade along with loads of other bad games which takes hours to uninstall. loads of proprams just suddenly stop working and their's nothing you can do about it except for close them.
the resolution isnt good, 1440x900 should be on 15", not 17".
so really, this is an astonishly terrible laptop, and its amazingly expensive, so if you have any common sense, dont buy this

I got my new Acer Aspire 7720G the week before Christmas, my previous laptop was also an acer thats why I decided to stick with the same make. The new 7720G has everything I want, it is fast and has a brilliant graphics card the Nvida geforce, which I needed as I do lots of gamming, such as the latest Sims and Tombraider games. The 17" crystal brite screen is also fantastic and the sound is excellent for a laptop. I would highly recomend this product as an all rounder. It is also great value for money as you gets lots for the price.
