How's the Victorian Disease doing? by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #1 Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 04:19:51 PM EST
Is the marmite calling you yet?

It's even harder to resist knowing that I shouldn't eat it.

Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water!

I kind of wish I had those cookbooks -- not that I'd use them for cooking, but they are a fascinating study in popular culture.

I am duty-bound to inform you by nebbish (2.00 / 0) #13 Tue Jan 15, 2008 at 10:36:43 AM EST
Of Anthony Worrell-Thompson's travesty Toastmate, a low salt version of Marmite. It isn't right, but beggars can't be choosers. Review it for us if you decide to try it...

Salt isn't the problem. by hulver (2.00 / 0) #14 Tue Jan 15, 2008 at 10:52:09 AM EST
They'd have to make a "yeast extract free" version of Marmite.

It's the yeast extract that's the problem apparently, not the salt.
