This rewrite clocks in at 66,410 words. The LaTeX version is 218 pages in 6x9 inch format. There are still a few things to clean up, and some decisions to make, but it's substantially better (at least to me) than the first draft, which I did in November 2007. Thanks to those of you who sent suggestions, or just lent moral support.

I'm taking an evening course from the local adult education school on novel writing, starting Tuesday Oct 7. They want a synopsis and the first chapter or two, going in, so next up is a total rewrite of the synopsis I already did once.

And then, we'll see. I think I'll print it on lulu.com, just for my own benefit. I've been working on this since mid-July, after all. It's actually cheaper to get it printed on lulu.com, and bound, and shipped to me, than to xerox it at Kinko's.This presents the opportunity for cover art. The first draft cover was a very nice picture by toxicfur; might use that again.
